Cabinet of Wonder
Gathering Place was thoughtfully designed to activate a sense of curiosity and creativity. The Cabinet of Wonder builds on that prevailing sentiment. Containing unique curations from around Tulsa and around the world, the Cabinet of Wonder allures guests and inspires gazing, fosters creative thought and stimulates conversation among visitors.
This collection was created uniquely for Gathering Place by internationally renowned artist, Mark Dion. Dion’s art explores the way public institutions and dominant ideologies perceive history and knowledge of the natural world.
The Cabinet of Wonder is a one of a kind collection that includes books, trophies, ornaments, awards, postcards, photographs and other historical artifacts displayed meticulously to share a story of international wonder from throughout history.
