Character Contest

We’re excited to introduce to you our walk around characters, Blue the Heron and Tulsey the Turtle who will be representing the Park. But wait, there’s another character we need your help naming!

Who Are The Characters?

Blue loves the great outdoors and has a deep connection to our environment. During his migration south, Blue spotted the Wetland Gardens and Adventure Playground and decided to make the Park home. The Arkansas River is Blue’s favorite place to watch for fish and make new friends.

Tulsey loves playing all types of sports whether it’s basketball, volleyball, soccer or street hockey. He also loves the Skate Park and BMX Pump Tracks. Because Tulsey grew up along the Arkansas River, he loves water and looks forward to boating at Peggy’s Pond next spring.

This squirrel grew up in the Reading Tree and has a passion for literacy and the arts. She also loves to dance, so watch for her busting a move with the Gather Round Crew or cheering on at story time. Help her get a name below!

How To Vote

Thank you to everyone who submitted their name idea for our Squirrel. We had too many great name suggestions we could not decide on just one! We have narrowed it down to the top 5 and are extending our contest to give Tulsa area kids and Gathering Place guests another chance to vote on their favorite name! The top choices are:

Do you have a favorite? Our Squirrel name voting station is located in Redbud Café in the Williams Lodge from November 6 through November. Get involved in the voting process and vote for your favorite name by receiving a leaf at Redbud Café and placing it into the box labeled with your name of choice, beginning on Tuesday, November 6!
