Gathering Place Family Wellness Days presented by OU Physicians, part of OU Medicine, are designed to raise awareness and draw attention to four major health risks in our Tulsa Community. These health risks are diabetes, vision, obesity and mental health. The Gathering Place Family Wellness Days and local health providers will give the community access to screening services, demonstrations and a wide range of group health amenities designed for early detection through proactive testing and education. This event will bring together family, friends and neighbors to discover helpful tips to stay healthy!

The first event focused on diabetes prevention will be on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gathering Place on the QuikTrip Great Lawn.

As the 7th leading cause of death in the state, diabetes is a serious public health concern for Oklahoma. More than 1,400 Oklahomans lose their life each year due to diabetes-related causes and 370,000 adults have been diagnosed with diabetes that is 1 in every 8 adults in the state. [ Reference:]

Join the fight, learn tips and strategies for prevention at Gathering Place Family Wellness Day presented by OU Physicians, part of OU Medicine, Saturday, June 15!
