Hear the unique sound of the world-famous music group Red Baraat at our final Concert in the 2019 series! Merging the sound of hard driving North Indian bhangra with elements of hip-hop, jazz and raw punk energy, Red Baraat will bring a spirit of excitement that will keep you on your feet! Before Red Baraat takes the stage, learn new dance moves and watch a live performance from Kripalaya Dance Academy. Join us for a cultural concert unlike anything Tulsa has seen before, on Saturday, October 5 starting at 6:30 p.m.
About Red Baraat
Red Baraat is a pioneering band from Brooklyn, New York. Conceived by dhol player Sunny Jain, the group has drawn worldwide praise for its singular sound, a merging of hard driving North Indian bhangra with elements of hip-hop, jazz and raw punk energy. Created with no less a purposeful agenda than manifesting joy and unity in all people, Red Baraat’s spirit is worn brightly on its sweaty and hard-worked sleeve.
About Kripalaya Dance Academy
Kripalaya Dance Academy was established in 2002 and is one of Tulsa’s Premier Dance Schools. The school specializes in Bharatanatyam, Indian Classical, Fusion and Bollywood Dances. Priya Raju - As a Director of Kripalaya Dance Academy, she has strived to preserve and promote Bharatanatyam with performances at Tulsa Performing Arts Center Summer Stage Event. Ever since starting the Academy in 2002, she has showcased the school's talents at various cultural events in Oklahoma. The school spread its wings to other states including opening for the prestige Heritage Festival in Chicago.
