Gathering Place is your destination for fitness and wellness! From the sports courts to the biking trails, we have something for every athlete.
Our sports courts, located at the southernmost part of the Park, offers our guests the ability to play impromptu or organized games of basketball, volleyball, street hockey and street soccer. Park near the courts and enjoy views of the Arkansas River to the west. During the evening, our courts are well lit, so you can keep your game going after sundown!
If you are a thrill-seeker, you will love our Skate Bowl and BMX tracks. Both areas offer views of the river and have easy access from 31st Street along soutbound Riverside Drive. There are three different levels to the bike tracks: expert, intermediate and beginner. We are excited to offer programming centered around the BMX and skate areas to engage the community with these two popular sports.
Many Tulsans have made memories running or biking along the Midland Valley Trail. This trail connects Tulsa’s downtown with the Arkansas riverfront along the abandoned rail corridor once used by the Midland Railroad. The passage around and through Gathering Place will preserve the direct flow of bicycles and foot traffic along the trail while also providing access to the slower pace of Park trails and programs. Passing between Swing Hill and Sky Garden, the new and improved Midland Valley Trail and passage will attract runners and bikers from near and far.
Athletes of all types will find a wide variety of fitness opportunities at Gathering Place. We also offer innovative and fun programs to get Tulsans of all ages moving. Check out our Fresh Fitness classes, beginning in May!
