Gathering Place will celebrate the vibrancy of the Tulsa community at Global Gatherings, a 13-week program highlighting various cultures and regions of the world. Every Friday in May, June, and July from 10 a.m. to noon in ONEOK Boathouse, families will be immersed in a new region of the world and learn about different cultures through hands-on activities, art, storytelling, dance, music, and more. Global Gatherings will be facilitated by members of the Tulsa community who are eager to share their culture with others. 

Join us on Friday, May 26 to celebrate the cultures of East Asia! Enjoy live performances including a Chinese folk dance, a traditional Japanese dance, and a Japanese taiko drumming performance by students from Bailey Elementary. You'll also experience a live Kendo demonstration, which is a modern Japanese martial art, as well as hear children's stories from Iran. Plus, learn the art of Chinese brush writing with the Tulsa Chinese School and create a Chinese zodiac bookmark with the Oklahoma Chinese Language Institute.
