Is there an age requirement?

Individual volunteers must be 18 or older. Minors who are at least 16 years old are eligible to volunteer with a parent or guardian's permission.

What types of volunteer opportunities are there?

Whether you’d like to volunteer with us weekly, monthly, or on an occasional basis, we have shifts to fit every schedule! Opportunities are available in the areas of Guest Services, Horticulture, Programming, and Events. View our full list of opportunities HERE.

How do I become a Gathering Place volunteer?

There are four steps to becoming a Gathering Place volunteer.

  1.  Apply online! It's fast and easy. Submit your application by creating a volunteer profile at www.gatheringplace.org/volunteer.
  2. Our Volunteer Manager will reach out to you to complete a short phone interview.
  3. If accepted, you'll receive a link to complete a background check.
  4. Once a background check has been completed and passed, you'll attend a volunteer orientation.

After attending an orientation session, you can sign up for various volunteer shifts online at www.gatheringplace.org/volunteer-login. Please note that some volunteer shifts may require additional training; this will be noted in the shift details.

What if I want to bring a group to volunteer together?

Corporate groups and community organizations are welcome to join us for a volunteer shift. For group volunteer opportunities, please email volunteer@gatheringplace.org with your group name, number of people, and preferred date range.

I have more questions about volunteering. Who can I contact?

Contact our Volunteer Manager by emailing volunteer@gatheringplace.org.
